A little about myself, I live in Shelburne Ontario Canada,
with my wife of 52 yrs. Mary Anne, we have 2 children and 4 Grandchildren.

What got you first interested in Affiliate marketing?

Many yrs. ago when I got my first computer, I said to myself "I’m not going to use this machine to simply search the web.
I’m going to make money with it."

How long have you been an Affiliate Marketer?

I have been involved in Affiliate marketing since 1999.

Kindly share some of your experiences in your journey to start and grow your online business.

When I first started affiliate marketing I knew nothing. I knew I had to place ads and stuff to get people interested in what I was selling, but how and where. At that time I was involved
with a shopping mall business. Then while trying to find places to advertise the business, which were few. I came across Worldprofit I saw this website for sale https:cashcreator.biz , As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it. And it’s still mine to this day 22 yrs.

How has Worldprofit helped you grow your business?

Worldprofit has taught me everything I know about Affiliate Marketing, remember I said before Worldprofit I knew Nothing. Worldprofit has taught me How to advertise, where to advertise,
what to advertise, how to build a responsive list using free resources. I have taken that knowledge and used to run 5 successful businesses. They have also taught me to treat whatever I do to
"Treat it like a business" Because that’s exactly what it is.

What is it about being on the Monitor team that you most enjoy or find beneficial?

Being a monitor is also a great learning tool, the questions that Associates, and members ask, has really helped me with my communication skills with others. And when I close a sale for one of our members, and get that thank you email from the member just makes my day.

Does it pass the sniff test? Affiliate marketers read this to understand why you aren’t getting sales conversions

"Something stinks" I said.

One of our members, let’s call him Bob, asked me to take a look at his advertising campaign for his Affiliate marketing program.
He’d spent a lot of money on advertising specifically solo ads, he was getting "sign ups" or leads but none were converting.
He’d been at if for some time, watching, waiting for some kind of return. He wasn’t a newbie either, he’d been doing online marketing for a few years. Finally in frustration he came to me for help.

I am sharing with you what I found, so you can avoid making the same mistakes and know what to look for when you buy advertising to promote your own affiliate marketing links.

First, I took a look at his Solo Ad copy. It was well written, got to the point, punchy, benefit – rich and enticed the reader to click for a Special Free Offer.
No problems with his Solo Ad copy whatsoever.

Next, I looked at the landing page he was using in his marketing, he had 3 different test versions and was tracking clicks on each. Each landing page (squeeze page) was well written, employed all the essentials of good copy writing, attention getting headlines, call to action, clear benefits, compelling offer, simple sign up / optin form.

Then I reviewed his click rate data for each page. He had a significant number of clicks with an interesting pattern. When the landing page was promoted in his Solo Ad, the clicks came in within seconds and minutes and hour of the posting, then stopped completely. No clicks at all after about an hour of the ad posting. Let me share some experience with you, as a company we spend thousands of dollars on advertising, and I can tell you that when we post an ad, especially to a list, we get leads for the next few days, even the next week. The responses don’t abruptly stop within an hour of the posting. The ad may go out in a few minutes, but the recipients don’t check / read their emails at the same time.

Next I turned to his list of leads. The leads when viewed as a long list was revealing. There was a suspicious pattern. They had very similar entry data, first initial only and a last name. Then some with a Name that was exactly the same as the email address. Some were entered in all capital letters, while others had the same style of abbreviations. Odd. I’ve been in the affiliate marketing industry for over 25 years, I can tell you one fact about data entry. Numerous people don’t enter data in the very same way, and rarely on a list of 100 leads would you see the exact same or very similar data entry pattern.

Here’s the real eye-opener.

When I analyzed if any of these "sign ups" had done anything after they entered their name / email to the optin form, I found that NONE of these leads had taken any further action. By action I mean, they didn’t login, they didn’t take the next step to "GET" what they had opted in to, or signed up for. Strange. If you are like me, when you "Sign up" for something you usually take (or are required) to take further action to verify the optin, or click to access the provided services, or login to collect on what you were offered and signed up for. Even if you are not like me, you would think that at least SOME of the leads / sign ups would "do" something, not one did. Why?

These leads didn’t pass the sniff test.

I broke it to Bob. The sign ups were fake, either generated by a robot, or a software auto click program, or spit out by a randomized database of names / addresses/ spoofed IP addresses. The leads are delivered in large numbers quickly to make the buyer happy. His reason for no conversion? The leads weren’t real people, robots and fake names don’t buy.

Finally, I asked Bob, where he had placed the Solo Ads. When he told me the source where he had been posting, the gig was up. He had been using a source that our experience and testing shows is a complete waste of money.

Your Marketing Strategy vs The BIG Earners: What THEY do that you aren’t

Affiliate marketing is something everyone can do.

In it’s simplest form affiliate marketing involves promoting special links for a company, when someone uses your link to make a purchase you earn a sales commission.

But….

Some people earn no money, some will earn a little money, and a few people earn a lot doing affiliate marketing.

How much you make in the industry depends on if you go about it the wrong way or the right way.

Better said, there is a smarter way to go about it, so your business grows faster and more profitable over time.
The MORE ways you can promote the sales links, the more exposure you get and therefore the greater chance of making sales and earning commission.

  • Identify your Brand then work on recognition and building. Determine who you are, what you offer, and why people should get it from you, then DELIVER as promised
  • Do Reviews, written or video, either way integrate key words, solid quality content. Make sure you have a HOSTED blog so you are promoting yourself not someone else.
  • Customer Care, keep your customers happy and you will have a lifetime of potential business.
  • Avoid FREE when you can for critical services – what happens to FREE services? Free services often disappear – and so does all your effort, content, and links, don’t risk it.
  • Get some help to avoid frustration and costly mistakes by aligning yourself with the right people. Use a reliable source for organizing, managing and growing your business, a proven time tested system for marketing like that offered by Worldprofit.

Training Theme and Discussion: Promotion – Back to Basics

Our members come to World Profit with various levels of experience.

A Common Objection to Safelist marketing: "Everybody is just signing up to send out their own ads – it doesn’t work."
It’s true that people sign up because it’s free to join and yes they send out their own ads BUT they also agree to RECEIVE ads and are a captive audience to see your ads. Not everyone will click on your ad – but some will. Clicks get you leads and build your list, it’s a bridge to a potential sale.
The BIGGEST reason, the REAL reason that people do not have success with Safelist marketing is about the ADS you are promoting, NOT the fault of the advertising source. When it comes to promotion MORE is better, and CONSISTENT promotion to a variety of advertising sites is recommended. Most new marketers underestimate how much promotion is required to see a conversion to sales. If your ad quality is poor you will get poor results. If you promote to only one or two places once or twice a week, you will get poor results.

Here’s how to get BETTER results from your Safelist and other online promotions.

  • Promote a website NOT a landing page with an Offer and an Optin.
  • Offers entice interest and get action, optins get you a lead and builds your list.
  • Don’t send out something that is total bunk, unbelievable, ridiculous or outrageous in it’s claims.
  • Promote something of value, make an offer, make it free, make it enticing, give people fantastic reasons to click/optin.
  • The BEST landing pages are FAST loading, EYE Grabbing headline, a few bulleted points, short to the point, leading to an OPTIN form for FREE details. Don’t use the "I have no time" to advertise as a valid excuse. NO promotion – NO SALES!
  • In your Member area are organization tools, time saving tools, key stroke savers and more.
  • Think of it this way. Don’t water your garden your plants die. Don’t take care of your business your sales die.
